"Workshop on Career Pathways for the Accounting Professions in Namibia "
We are pleased to inform our stakeholders that Naminibia Accountancy College was a participant at the workshop on Career Pathways for the Accounting Professions in Namibia.
The workshop was organised by the Ministry of Education, Namibia Qualifications Authority on 13 July 2006, at one of the Hotels in the City of Windhoek, Namibia.
The Honourable Deputy Minister of Finance, Mr. Tjekero Tweya gave the keynote address to the workshop. He ephasized the need for a collective effort among stakeholders in the Accounting Professions to direct their efforts in reviewing and uplifting the Accounting Professions in Namibia for the benefit of industry and commerce.
The Director of NQA, Mr. Franz Gertze welcomed the delagetes and gave opening remarks.
Namibia Accountancy College was represented by a high powered delegation that included the college Chairperson, Mr. Patrick M. Limbo, The Head of Administration, Mr. Chatambudza Uta, The Head of Marketing, Mr. Touchmore Chikarango and Mr. Leon Kufa, an Accountant with the NAC College.
Mr. Kufa made a moving presentation on NAC's behalf. He touched on the need for varied accounting qualifications to be part and parcel of the Accounting Professions in Namibia.
The NAC Chairman commended such fora for providing a platform for information sharing and promoting organised efforts towards enriching Namibian Education.
He expressed excitment in that Namibia Accountancy College was playing a rightful stakeholder role.
The ripple effect is that the students enrolled with the college can benefit immensely from the college's interaction with other influential players in the Accounting Professions.
